This Disclaimer and Editorial Standards statement forms part of the Terms of Use of NISWOSAKIT (the websites at niswosakit.com and woonsocket.info, the "Site").

1. No official status; no advice

NISWOSAKIT is an independent civic information project. It is not a government website, is not the official record, and does not provide legal, financial, tax, real estate, voting, medical, or other professional advice. No professional or advisory relationship is created by your use of the Site. For any official matter, including voter registration, polling places, deadlines, court matters, or tax or property assessments, the applicable official source governs and controls, and where the Site and an official source conflict, the official source is correct.

2. Accuracy and no reliance

The Site compiles and analyzes public information, including budgets, property and land records, court and housing records, election filings, and other public data. Public data may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and our analysis of it is our own interpretation and not a statement of official fact. All content is provided for general informational purposes only, "as is" and "as available," without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose.

3. No liability for your decisions

You should not rely on the Site as your sole source of information for any decision. Any action you take based on the Site is your own decision and your own responsibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site. You should confirm any material matter with the applicable official source before acting.

4. Editorial standards

We apply the following standards to the content we publish. They are stated here both to describe our practice and to identify errors as matters to be corrected rather than positions to be defended.

• Sourcing. Figures are attributed to the public record from which they are drawn, with the date the data was obtained. Where no supporting record exists, the claim is not published.
• Separation of fact and analysis. Documented facts are presented as such, and any interpretation is identified as our analysis and kept distinct from the underlying record.
• Completeness. Data that complicates a conclusion is retained rather than omitted, and where the record is insufficient, the Site states so.
• Comparability. Financial figures are normalized where appropriate (for example, per person or per household, and in a stated basis of measurement) so that comparisons are meaningful.
• Treatment of individuals. We report the public conduct of public officials, candidates, public bodies, and businesses drawn from the public record. We do not compile profiles of private individuals, and where a record identifies a private person we favor aggregate presentation over individual identification.

5. Public records, corrections, and removal requests

Much of the content is drawn from public records and public proceedings and is attributed to its source. Public records may contain errors and may change over time. If you believe any content is inaccurate, out of date, or unfairly presented, you may notify us at contact@niswosakit.com, identifying the page, the specific item, and, where possible, a citation to the correct record. We endeavor to review reports promptly, to correct genuine errors, and to note material corrections. If you are a private individual identified on the Site, you may additionally request that the information be corrected, reduced, de-identified, or removed, and we will consider such requests in good faith. Submitting a report does not obligate us to remove accurate, sourced information concerning a matter of public concern. The corrections process is described in the Corrections and Right of Reply statement.

6. Opinion and analysis

Where the Site interprets data, it is identified as such. Analysis, comparisons, and any characterization of a public figure or public issue represent our good-faith opinion based on disclosed and sourced facts, are offered as commentary rather than as statements of certainty, and are subject to correction. Election-related and candidate material is additionally governed by the Nonpartisanship and Elections statement.

7. Third-party links

The Site links to official sources, records, and other third-party websites that we do not control. Such links are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement. Once you follow a link, the destination site's own terms and privacy practices apply.
